Whenever possible, the lessee's license should be verified with the proper governing board.  Regardless of industry, the lessee should have a minimum of two years in business under the same ownership.  Some exceptions would be:

1. Purchase of an established business by someone with experience within the industry.  It must be established that the business itself has been existence over two years.
2. Establishment of a new or additional location by an individual who has met the two year requirement at another location.
3. A professional (i.e., physician, lawyer, dentist) purchasing an existing practice or changing location.  License should be verified at over two years.
